It's getting christmassy

As I promised you a post all about Christmas decoration - et voilà, here it is! :)

Personally, Christmas is my favourite time of the year. Like not because you get lovely presents but there is something mystical around this time, the city shines in wonderful lights, the little markets in the centre opens, you can treat yourself with a yummy mulled wine and delicious cookies - just to mention some of the great things you can do.
This year I am really into the whole Christmas magic and the best thing you can start with is to decorate your flat. One week ago I grabed a lot in my boxes which are in the cellar and I found some lovely christmassy pieces. My motto this year was the combination of natural materials with very modern, colourful and shiny ones. So it is kind a mix of everything.
To get the Advent season started this Sunday I prepared a modern Advent wreath which is very typical for Austria and it always reminds me of being at home. Because when I was younger I was so excited when I could light the first of the four candles on the wreath. It gives me the feeling that Christmas isn't far away anymore. The étagère is nice to offer your guests cakes or cookies too (just an allround-thing) ;)
Anyway, it doesn't depend on whether you decorate your flat or not, just feel the magic of this time of the year, calm down a bit (I know it is hard because exams are coming up), enjoy the lovely Christmas markets and have a cup of mulled wine with your lovelies.

Love, Mel xx

Red Wine vs. Wine-red

I hate Red Wine. But I love my wine-red hat, wine-red necklace, wine-red lipstick-all about this beautiful colour. I think it is probably one of my favourite colours this season. This outfit creation took me less than 10 minutes and it is not that special. Or is it? Just black pants, a long-shirt, a cardigan and a hat-that's it. But somehow I wanted to show you this look because I think the hat is the eye catcher and the beauty belongs to him. It gives my outfit an edgy look, without it I think it would be a bit boring. :P The lovely cardigan from Charlotte Russe (totally one of my favourite stores in NYC) has a nice colour combination and kind of a boho-chic pattern. The neon pink/orange part of the cardigan which is sewn in gives a nice contrast to the lovely rose.

Enjoy the comfy boho style. And sorry for the quality of these photos (unfortunately something went wrong with my camera settings)

xx Mel

Scottish Tartan Look

Cheers up for Scotland! As I love England and the Tartan trend I thought "Let's bring some english style to Austria". So this is the result, my new comfy tartan-scarf in lovely red and black tones from Zara, my new H&M tartan-trousers in soft blueish and black tones and my new black kind of poncho coat. Yes all new and all great for my favourite time of the year. I just love it when it is getting cold outside and you can cuddle yourself into warm clothes, that's why I am so pleased about the layering look :) And these girls inspired me to do this post (btw this online mag is on of my favourite!! ) ;)

So enjoy the scottish way of dressing up yourself for the best time of the year :)
xx M.

Laid-back Autumn Look

Yes I know I am always wearing my pink Nike Sneakers but when you do a Sightseing-Trip rule number1: wear comfortable shoes! ;) So here is a very laid-back look with kind of lovely autumn colours like my favourite one this season, dark purple. My scarf matches my nails and my lips and I kept my make-up very natural. I combined my dark turquoise dress to my studded leather jacket which I love the most. It gives every outfit a bit of an edgy touch. The greenish belt with the gold details is a nice accessoire and brighten the outfit a bit.

Love, Mel

Striped in the Chi-City

Hello again :)

I know, autumn is here and the days are getting colder buuuut I have another summery outfit post from Chicago, the Chi-City.
It is not the best outfit for chilly days but I fell in love with this striped dress and I wanted to share it with you guys.
Stripes are always fashionable and it is just an easy way to style an outfit whether it is a striped scarf,  striped leggins or even a striped dress ;)
Even though the days are getting shorter, the temperature is getting lower and the rainy and foggy weather is getting more I hope you still like this post!
And I found my striped homie too ;)

Boston Tourist Diary

Hello :)

As I promised you in the latest post that the following one is all about good places to be in Boston - here it is :) Of course there is some fashion in this post too ;) I have been in Boston for 4 days and it is quite a good time to see aaaaaaaall the beauty of this city, lovely parks, nice skyscrapers, a skydeck view, little shops and great places for breakfast and dinner. I have to say that the weather was perfect at the beginning of September so I think that helps a lot to present a city like Boston in the proper light.
I start with our hotel, the Omni Parker House Hotel, which is in Downtown Boston and all I can say is: AWESOME. The personnel was so friendly and everything was clean and comfortable prepared. I think itis really important when you do a Sightseeing Trip and you are walking many many miles a day that you have a comfortable and quiet room for a relaxed sleep.

After a good sleep all you need is a good and nutritious breakfast. Generally in America it's hard to find nice breakfast spots because most of them just have "sandwiches to go" and "coffee to go" but we are Austrian people and we want to sit down and start our day with the most important meal :) So we found two really nice spots: the first one is inside the Qunicy Market, a huge market hall with all kinds of food. I discovered the "Bagel Factory" and it was just yummy :)

Quincy Market
4 S Market St
(zwischen Leo M Birmingham Pky und Centola St)
BostonMA 02135

The second lovely place to be for having breakfast was thinking cup. From different bagels, muffins or fruit salads this cafe had a nice atmosphere. Most of the people who go there are students so it was quite cheap too :)

Now I want to recommend you some nice addresses for having a yummy dinner :)

Emmet's Irish Pub&Restaurant (You have to know that the pubs in Boston are as traditional as in England or Ireland ;) )
6B Beacon St
(zwischen Tremont Pl und Somerset St)
BostonMA 02108

Joe's American Bar&Grill (really nice burgers and steaks)
181 Newbury Street
Boston, MA 02116

Whiskey's Steakhouse (awesome atmosphere!)
885 Boylston Street
Boston, MA 02116

And you have to definitely to the oldest pub in town, the "Bell in Hand". (Drinks are expensive!)

Harbour
Freedom Trail
View from the Monument
Little Italy in Boston
Sunset on the Skydeck
Boston Common
Skyscrapers
Boston by Night on the Skydeck
