DIY Adventkalender

Have fun! xx M.

Mondays like these

Fake Fur For Autumn

I am back with a statement piece which is on the top of my list "What should I wear in Autumn?" - the fake fur. Whether it is a jacket or a vest it is one of my must-haves in fall. I don't know why I love that season so much cause the weather is more or less cold, windy and wet. But it has something magical when you see that the colours of the trees are changing, people change flat shoes into warm boots and the day gets dark earlier. Maybe it's just because Christmas is around the corner ;)
When it is getting chilly outside people (and so do I!) tend to wrap up their outfits with the biggest coat they've found in their closet and that's sometimes a shame cause we cover nice pieces. A vest is a nice item to show your other pieces but to keep warm too, on the other hand. I combined it with my new leather leggins and a casual black blouse. Another statement piece fot autumn are Loafers which are displayed in the shops in different colours and patterns and they are so comfy to wear even when it is getting colder outside.
So have fun with experimenting in that wonderful oh-so special time of the year :) And do not hide yourself under a mass of coats!

Weekend Trip: Innsbruck

FINALLY!! I found some time to publish a new blogpost again. Besides working, moving into a new flat and learning for my upcoming exams, it is really tough to find some time for relaxing and doing some personal stuff. As I keep everybody updated on instagram what I am doing and where I am, I was in Innsbruck some weeks ago for a nice shopping and sightseeing trip. It is always nice and refreshing to do unexpected and spontaneous trips, even it is just for one night. :) And I promised myself to explore my home country and all the beautiful states which have their own flair and atmosphere. When we arrived in Innsbruck the surroundings just blew me away because it is just a lovely small city in the middle of beautiful mountains. Altough the city is kind of a student's city it is quite expensive. I was looking up the internet for nice accommodations and I found the Hotel Innsbruck, which was 140€ for a double bedroom (70€ per person) for one night but it was very central and you walk just about 200 metres into the old town and to the sight "Goldenes Dachl".
It was a weekend full of fun, nice sights and shops and one of the best breakfast clubs I have ever been. The breakfast club offers a huge variation of standard breakfast, omelettes, brownies, cupcakes and so on. I just felt being back in London :)

Below you can also find some outfit photos. When I am doing a sightseing trip it is important to feel comfortable and the MOST IMPORTANT: wearing good shoes ;)

I am off to do some more moving, so stay tuned for some updates on my instagram page: white_canary

Step Up:All In

Every time the new trailer from the movie "Step Up" hits the world wide web I get so excited about new dance battles, love stories and the hottest male actors ever ever eeeeeever (the best about those movies)! That's the reason why I went to the cinema last evening. But unfortunately the movie did not answer my expectations, probably because it is the 5th one already! Nevertheless I was in the mood to dress myself a little crazier, more layering, more hip-hop, more casual... One easy way to make your outfit baggy-like is to wear a cropped top, maybe some pair of used jeans and I rolled my check shirt around my hips. The biggest decision I had to make was choosing the right pair of shoes - sneakers vs. rocky booties. But I chose the second ones because of this simple reason - just to make it a bit more elegant instead of looking like coming from the dance studio. ;) I pimped it with some golden details and here we go - a bit more elegant baggy-styled outfit! ;)

Enjoy! x M.

Trenchcoat in black

Today is the first of August and yes - there has been no real superduper summer yet. The weather is most of the time rainy and people are getting frustrated which I can understand for some reason but you can not change anything about it - so hey! get yourself into comfy clothes and warm yourself up, e.g. with the classical all-time-favourite trenchcoat. I think it makes every outfit timeless and besides that it keeps your body warm during rainy and chilly days. I just combined it with a high-waisted pair of jeans and a blank top. To pimp my outfit a little bit I am wearing my new beloved leo-moccasins and a very classy handbag.
So I hope you do not worry so much about the weather and enjoying still your summer. But for the colder days: grab your trenchcoat ;)

Italian Inspiration

Summer holidays-mode is on! Yihaa! Exams are over and I've already spent my vacation in Italy last week. Me, my boyfriend and his parents went camping in Vieste (it is in Southern Italy - about 11 hours drive from Carinthia). I never went on a camping trip before so I was excited about this kind of holiday. The daily routine started with a yummy breakfast, went on with sunbathing at the beach and ended with a great delicious dinner in an Italian restaurant - octopus, spaghetti, bruschetta, vino mhmmm (just sayin' ;) )! Although it was very touristy and the water animation was a bit of annoying, the sunset just blew it away - pure romance! The Italian culture is very different to our one and every time I travel to Italy I need some time to sort things out and to get used to the circumstances and people there.
I hope you enjoy the following pictures which should give you a little inside view of the Italian lifestyle.
